3 out of 5 stars Decent charger   September 8, 2010
P. Flint
I initially hated this charger and couldn't get it to work at all, and left a one star review. I've since figured it out. This charger does work decently when you get it sorted out. The manual could be better written and the user interface could have been better designed too. I really hate products where you have to push buttons within a short time limit to get them to work. None the less, once I figured out it's quirks it charges decently.

It's definitely a unit for those who are technically minded and like to fiddle with things; probably not the best choice for your grandmother to use, unless she's got an electrical engineering degree.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!   August 26, 2010

I have been using rechargeables for 10 years, and this (in my view, 3rd generation) charger is the best by far. It charges fast or completely conditions them by cycling 20 times. It has brought previously dead cells back to life, and increased the capacity of both Sanyo Eneloops and Energizers. Best feature is that you can select a separate program, function or display for **each cell**. No more having to charge in pairs; very, very flexible.

5 out of 5 stars highly functional battery recharger - great buy   August 24, 2010
A. Funge (Colorado Springs)
This charger is a great buy.

On the first battery I tried 'refresh' mode (original mAh rating of 1700 mAh) it originally charge to 429 mAH full charge. After running refresh mode, it rated 1550 mAH! No more buying new rechargables for a while. I'm slowly working through my other batteries. Refresh actually takes several days on some batteries (several charge / discharge cycles).

You can charge/discharge/refresh/test individual batteries (nicad / nimh only).

I purchased with sanyo eneloop batteries which are great.

2 out of 5 stars Worked fine for 3 weeks   August 22, 2010

Worked very well for 3 weeks. Then the "mode" button stopped working so I can only use the "Charge" mode loosing the vital functions of "Refresh", "Discharge", "Test".

5 out of 5 stars Nice and decent charger   August 20, 2010

This is a great charger for the price. Its simple to use once you play around with it. Just read the quick reference and manual and you should be good. The only thing is the buttons are a little jumpy so they don't register exactly every time but once you get used to it becomes easier. Start out with one battery to practice then all four.
